An Untitled Poem
By Leah M.
It happened quickly.
Bright lights, loud noises
The wind picked up speed
Drip. Drip. Drip.
The rain began falling the same time
that I did.
Soon it started falling faster.
The ground was weeping;
its’ streams filled and searched
For lower ground.
The woman’s eyes glistened
like a thousand stars in the sky,
But not just from crying
My heart was a drum
Joining the music from above.
A single smile shown from her face
I finally learned to love
myself
