As the days grow darker and the nights longer, we encouraged our community to get creative with Cromaine's Fairytale Writing and Art Contest! Each November, we challenge our patrons to either write their own fairytale, create a re-telling of an existing fairytale, or draw art inspired by a fairytale-- and as always, our Hartland community delivered!
Check out this year's amazing entries below.

We hope you enjoyed reading these wonderful stories and looking at this amazing art as much as we did! Thank you to all of our local artists who contributed a beautiful art piece or a fascinating story to the contest. We love seeing the creativity of our Hartland community in action!
If you're already itching to enter another contest, we have two more opportunities happening in December: Our annual Gingerbread Person Contest is back for another year, and we encourage our budding artists to submit entries based on their favorite book characters. Forms can be picked up at the Youth Desk starting Sunday, December 1, and are due back to the Library by Friday, December 20.
We're also unveiling a new contest this December: Kill the Pen! For this endeavor, we challenge all of the artists in our community to pick up a poster board and a brand new pen from the Youth Reference desk, and then draw until your pen runs out of ink. When you finish your masterpiece, bring it back to the Library to be voted on by our community for a chance to win a prize! Supply pickup begins Monday, December 16, and posters & pens are due back to the Library by Friday, January 31.
If you have questions about Cromaine's contests or upcoming programs, don't hesitate to reach out. We're always happy to help!
