GIFTS TO CROMAINE FROM THE FRIENDS
JANUARY 2012-DECEMBER 2012
$2,000 IncreasedCromaine’s collection of e-books. Since OverDrive can now be used on Kindle, demand has increased by over 35%. We need to beef the availability and that needs funds.
$250 Grant Sweet Memorial Essay contest awards. as a wonderful event last year, and we’d like to keep it going, not just in memory of Grant, but also in support of our area veterans.
$500 Livingston Reads 2012. This year’s book was “Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. We’ve got a lead on a survival teacher, wild game chef, and some very interesting movies for a “Cinema Apocalyptica” series.
$3,800 Big Read 2012. This year the title is Twain’s “Adventures of Tom Sawyer.” As the only Michigan library receiving a Big Read grant, your leadership in our non-NEA-funded year, went a long way to proving sustainability.
$4,000 Summer Reading 2012. Over 2,000 young people, teens, and adults. High quality programming. Keeping everyone reading!
$1,000 Summer Music. Our four-week series of concerts has become the place to be in Hartland on Wednesdays in July
$1,200 Teen furnishings to permit 3 more computers on the second floor. This, with other help, will install a counter and three stools to increase the number of computers for teens on the second floor to ten—much needed!
$12,750 Total Given by the Friends to Cromaine Just in 2012-13!
$10,000 Given in 2011!
$9,000 Given in 2010!
